Some common types of surgeries are required for problems affecting the anal canal:

• Hemorrhoidectomy: This surgical procedure removes hemorrhoids, which are bulging veins in the anal region that can cause pain, bleeding, and irritation.
• Anal Fissure procedure (Lateral Internal Sphincterotomy): This procedure is used to treat chronic anal fissures, which are painful tears in the skin around the anal canal. It entails removing a small portion of the anal sphincter muscle to relieve stress and improve recovery.
• Fistulotomy: This procedure is used to repair anal fistulas, which are abnormal tunnels created between the anal canal and the skin around the anus. The surgeon opens the fistula to let it repair.
  Anal Cancer Surgery: Patients with anal cancer may need surgery to remove cancerous cells or tumors. Depending on the degree of the cancer, this may include small excisions or more invasive operations such as abdominoperineal resection (APR).
• Infection Drainage: If you have an anal infection (a collection of pus), a surgeon may need to drain it. To avoid infection spread, this is commonly performed under local anesthetic or sedation.
• Rectal Prolapse Surgery: This procedure is performed when a portion of the rectum grows through the anus, a condition known as rectal prolapse. The operation may include patching or removing the prolapsed tissue.
• Sphincteroplasty: This operation is used to restore the anal sphincter muscles, usually after trauma or surgery that causes incontinence.
• Stapled Hemorrhoidopexy (PPH):  It is a less invasive alternative to standard hemorrhoidectomy for the treatment of hemorrhoids. The technique involves removing and repositioning hemorrhoidal tissue using a stapler.
